I am absolutly in love with Donorschoose.org!  What a fantastic concept that not only allows teachers watch the process of their grant proposal, but allows those who donate to have a say in what they want their money going towards.  I couldn't wait to go home and look through it more and see some of the activities that teachers were requesting money for.  Some of the things were fabulous and seemed like an amazing idea, however there were a few that I simply didn't understand why you would waste your time writing for it.  For example there was a teacher who was looking for around $200 for dry erase markers and erasers to use in his math class.  Wouldn't it just be easier to to grab some on clearance at your local store and use what you have for erasers?  However, there were some great ideas of creating centers and especially tools that will help materials they already have stay safe, such as iPad cases.  Wonderful!  I am especially excited to have been introduced to this webpage as I know several people who at the end of the year must make some donations in order to keep the IRS from eating them alive.  What better way to put that money to good use than to support ME and my students.  I simply cannot wait to try my hand at this website and see what kind of wonderful goodies I can obtain in order to help these precious kids become more engaged in what they are learning!
